A Time To Reflect

As we wrap up an incredible year, we’re reflecting on some of the highlights that made 2024 so memorable. From welcoming new artists to being recognized on a national level, it’s all thanks to your support and our amazing community of artists. Here are our top four moments from the past year:

1. Welcoming 5 New Artists to Our Community

Artist's

This year, we were thrilled to welcome five incredibly talented artists to the Gallery. Meet Haida artists Alvin AdkinsCorey BulpittGina Mae Schubert, and Guustl’as Rorick, as well as Nuxalk artist Danika Saunders. Their unique styles and creative visions have brought fresh perspectives and stunning works to our Gallery. It’s an honour to represent their art and share it with you.

2. Supporting Local Artists with Essential Tools via our Artists' Tool Fund

Danielle Louise Allard

In 2024, we celebrated a significant milestone: funding and purchasing the sixth major tool for a local Haida artist. This year, we supported Haida artist Danielle Louise Allard by providing essential wood carving tools to help her develop her totem pole carving skills. Haw’aa – thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible achievement!

3. Celebrating Recognition for Women Carvers

Curve

Three of the talented artists whose work we represent—Cori SavardMelanie Russ, and Morgan Asoyuf—were recognized in the Audain Art Museum’s show: Curve! Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast. This exhibit celebrates the groundbreaking contributions of women carvers, and we’re so proud to see these incredible artists receive the recognition they deserve.

4. Being Nominated for Tourism Business of the Year Award

Tourism Award

We were honoured to be named a top finalist for the Small and Medium-Sized Business of the Year Award by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada as part of their prestigious Canadian Tourism Awards. While we didn’t bring home the gold, being recognized for our passion and dedication to community and supporting local artists was a huge honour. Thank you for helping us achieve this milestone!

Haw'aa all for such a wonderful year!
